Other manufacturers known to use Villiers engines up to 1915 include the Campion, The Hobart, the. Villiers didn't make identification of their engines an easy task!! Luckily the Police in my home state in Australia erected their own list of engine numbers for their own mysterious policeman reasons. That list includes some of the Villiers numbers Mr Bacon couldn't find and I have a copy of it.

Here is a mystery maybe someone can help me with. I have a couple of 'Starmaker' inner primary chain cases with the following serial numbers stamped on the ID plate:
2225H 291F 1376
• Paste it in to the registration box. Dll tool license key serial.
2225H 367F 1303
I know that the 2225H signifies the Starmaker. The final #### is the engine serial number - a number in the 1300's I believe represents one of the later Starmaker engines made (mid-late 60s).
The middle ###F indicates the engine specification. These specification numbers do not appear in my April 1965 Starmaker Spare Parts List, the last number in the F series being 131F - trials engine.
My question is does anyone know what specification 291F and/or 367F refers to, or in which bikes they may have been originally used?
